Impact Summary - Forever Braiders

ree

Forever Braiders Nonprofit Braiding School (Toledo, OH)

Founder: Cee Cee Ann Marie

Founder's Mission:

Cee Cee Ann Marie founded Forever Braiders with a clear and personal vision. She wanted to teach young girls how to braid hair so they could gain real skills, work toward proper licensing, and earn income in a safe and supportive environment. Her goal was not only to teach hair techniques, but to create a pathway to confidence, independence, and economic opportunity.

Challenge

As a brand new nonprofit, Forever Braiders had a strong mission but no infrastructure and minimal visibility. The organization needed marketing support, digital systems, and startup resources to launch its first cohort and engage the broader community.

BBD Support

Black Business Development Group partnered with Forever Braiders to remove early barriers and support a successful launch. BBD is providing one year of free capacity-building support, including:

  • Website development and ongoing management

  • Search Engine Optimization (Google, AI Visibility)

  • Email communications support

  • Social media management and content strategy

  • A $1,000 sponsorship to support the first class, purchasing student supplies and program materials

This support allowed Forever Braiders to focus on training and community service while maintaining a consistent public presence.

6-Month Impact

  • Five students graduated from the Forever Braiders program in November 2025

  • While still in the program, students began providing free braiding services to the community

  • Students also started receiving tips during the program, creating early income opportunities

  • The first graduation ceremony welcomed approximately 75 community members, family members, and supporters

  • $500+ online donations from BBD's Impact Partners known as "The Village"

Outcome

With foundational marketing support and startup funding in place, Forever Braiders successfully launched its first cohort, celebrated student achievement publicly, and strengthened community trust. Students gained hands-on experience, early income, and confidence, while the organization established a strong platform for continued growth.

Why It Matters

This partnership highlights how strategic marketing and modest financial investment can help youth-serving nonprofits move from vision to execution. By reducing operational barriers, Forever Braiders was able to center students, serve the community, and create meaningful pathways to economic empowerment.
